Seeking to diversify product offerings, Wayne Home Equipment acquired Zephyr Pump Company of Decatur, Illinois, in the 1940s.
A more significant change occurred in 1978, when Scott Fetzer, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, a $21 billion conglomerate controlled by Warren Buffett, purchased Wayne Home Equipment. Today, our company is one of 20 Scott Fetzer divisions, among which are also Kirby, Campbell Hausfeld, and World Book Encyclopedia.
